Winter bohemian style in 2026 feels softer, more expressive, and more personal than ever.
As fashion continues shifting away from rigid trend cycles and ultra-minimal dressing, we’re seeing a return to texture, layered silhouettes, artisan detail, and clothing that feels lived in and emotionally connected. Comfort remains important, but so does individuality.
From oversized layers to maximalist prints and romantic, almost magical styling influences, this season’s boho aesthetic feels nostalgic.
So, here are six winter boho trends we’re seeing everywhere right now!

1. Oversized Layering Is Still Leading Winter Style
Winter dressing in 2026 continues to lean toward oversized silhouettes that feel comforting, practical, and easy to wear. Rather than restrictive layering or structured tailoring, we’re seeing a strong shift toward pieces that wrap, drape, and move naturally with the body.
Part of the appeal lies in versatility. Oversized layers work across changing temperatures, different body types, and evolving personal style, while creating that effortless, lived-in feeling that has always sat at the heart of bohemian fashion.
Styles like our Willow Coats embody this softer approach to winter dressing perfectly. With their attached scarves, relaxed fit, and cocoon-like warmth, they’re designed for throwing on over everyday outfits while still bringing beautiful boho texture and personality.
Our Sukha Tunics have also become a favourite for easy winter layering, styled over flowing pants, textured basics, or beneath oversized outerwear for extra warmth and dimension. Meanwhile, the flared sleeves and movement of our Indira Robes bring a more romantic feel to oversized dressing, proving that comfort and dramatic silhouettes can coexist.

2. Romantic Bohemian Styling is Coming Back Thanks to Practical Magic 2
Alongside the rise of oversized layering and comfort-led dressing, we’re also seeing a softer, more romantic side of bohemian fashion re-emerge. Flowing silhouettes, ethereal fabrics, vintage-inspired paisleys, dramatic sleeves, layered jewellery, and richly textured styling are all making a strong return this winter.
As culture leans back toward analogue living and embraces the nostalgia of the ‘90s and early 2000s, fashion is moving away from ultra-minimal dressing and back toward clothing that feels more personal and full of character. Beloved films and shows like Practical Magic (number two releasing in September 2026), Charmed, and Buffy are having a resurgence too, bringing with them a style language rooted in softness, artistry, a touch of grunge, and a little mysticism.
Our Pashmina collection captures this mood beautifully. Crafted from upcycled silky-soft fabrics with luminous sheen and beautiful drape, these pieces feel light, romantic, and endlessly layerable throughout the cooler months. The intricate paisleys and expressive prints bring richness and personality to winter wardrobes while still feeling timeless rather than trend-driven. These are the kinds of garments that allow us to reconnect with parts of ourselves that the era of beige dressing had us forgetting.

3. More Is More: The Return of Colour, Print & Patchwork
After years of pared-back palettes and minimalist-dominated trend cycles, fashion is embracing colour, texture, and layered print once again, much to the delight of bohemian dressers who never gave up their love affair with maximalism! Bold, colour-drenched styling is making a strong return in 2026, with florals, patchwork textiles, mixed patterns, and richly detailed fabrics bringing individuality back into winter wardrobes.
This shift feels especially natural within the world of kantha. Because these textiles are created from layered reclaimed fabrics, every piece already carries depth, variation, and visual storytelling through colour, print, and stitching. No two garments are ever exactly alike, which is part of what makes them so special.
Our patchwork kantha pieces embody this trend beautifully. Combining multiple prints, tones, and textures into one garment, they celebrate the joyful, eclectic spirit that has long defined bohemian fashion. Our patchwork Pixie Coatsand new patchwork Mahuya Vests are perfect examples of bringing a little dopamine dressing into a winter wardrobe. The result is clothing that feels vibrant, soulful, and completely one-of-a-kind.

4. Natural Fibres Are Having a Major Moment
As conversations around sustainability continue to grow, many people are becoming more intentional about not only what they wear, but what their clothing is made from and how it feels against the skin. Rather than chasing endless trend cycles and synthetic fast fashion, there’s a growing shift toward natural fibres, breathable fabrics, and pieces designed to be worn and loved for years.
This feels especially significant in winter, when mainstream cold-weather fashion still relies heavily on synthetic fibres and petroleum-based fabrics. At the same time, we’re seeing more small Australian makers and slow fashion brands creating outerwear and layering pieces from natural and reclaimed fibres instead, offering alternatives that feel softer, more breathable, and more connected to craftsmanship.
Within bohemian fashion, this return to conscious dressing feels like a natural evolution. Textured cottons, recycled silks, and artisan-made fabrics bring softness, movement, and individuality while allowing clothing to feel more personal and long-lasting.
At Renew, the majority of our collections are created using reclaimed textiles, including recycled kantha textiles and sari cottons, helping to give existing fabrics a second life. Combined with small-batch production and close relationships with our artisan partners in India and Bali, who craft our Bohemian Basics collection using fabrics including organic cotton, we take an approach centred around mindful production. Our cotton Ruanas (a.k.a. the wearable blanket) are an absolute must-have bohemian staple for any winter wardrobe!

5. Gender-Inclusive Styling Continues to Grow
One of the most exciting shifts happening within fashion right now is the continued move toward more fluid and inclusive styling. As traditional ideas around who “should” wear certain silhouettes or fabrics continue to soften, more people are embracing clothing as a form of self-expression rather than something confined to a binary.
Bohemian fashion has always naturally lent itself to this way of dressing. Relaxed silhouettes, oversized layering, flowing fabrics, and adaptable styling pieces allow garments to be worn across a wide range of identities, body types, and personal aesthetics. Pieces like oversized coats, tunics, robes, lounge pants, and layering separates are increasingly being styled in ways that feel personal rather than prescriptive.
At Renew, many of our most-loved pieces have organically become favourites across a diverse range of customers because they’re designed with inclusivity in mind. We recently explored this further in our gender-neutral styling guide, sharing some of our favourite pieces for expressive bohemian dressing for every body.

6. Artisan Details Are Back in the Spotlight
As fashion continues moving away from mass-produced uniformity, there’s growing appreciation for the kinds of details that make garments feel handmade, textured, and unique. Across bohemian fashion in 2026, artisan touches like visible stitching, crochet, fringing, patchwork and tassels are once again becoming a defining part of winter style.
Part of the appeal lies in the sense of individuality these details bring. Rather than perfectly polished finishes, people are gravitating toward clothing that feels tactile, storied, and connected to traditional artisan techniques.
This is something that has always sat at the heart of our collections at Renew Bohemian. The hand stitching throughout our kantha pieces, fringing and texture within our Pashmina range, embroidery details on select one-off pieces, and natural wooden buttons used across many garments all bring warmth and character to everyday dressing. Even our Wanderer Bags reflect this shift toward artisan-inspired styling, with their textured finishes and bohemian detailing adding depth to layered winter outfits.

In a world increasingly dominated by fast production and synthetic uniformity, these handcrafted details feel more meaningful than ever, bringing a human touch back into fashion.
At its core, modern bohemian fashion continues to evolve while staying true to what has always defined it: freedom, texture, storytelling, and a deep appreciation for traditional crafts. Whether you’re drawn to flowing silhouettes, layered prints, or handcrafted details, winter dressing this year is really about building a wardrobe that feels like you.
