There’s always a little magic and a little chaos behind every Renew Bohemian shoot, but this one felt especially meaningful.

Our latest campaign day was centred around something we care deeply about as a brand: inclusivity, representation, and listening to our community. Over the years, one piece of feedback we’ve heard again and again is the desire to see our clothing shown on more body types across our website and social platforms. And honestly, we hear you.

It’s incredibly important to us that each of you can see yourself reflected in our brand and feel represented, welcomed, and included in the Renew world. While not every change can happen overnight, we always strive to show up authentically and continue taking steps forward wherever we can.

From left to right: Annabelle, Chanelle & Eva

So for this shoot, we brought together two beautiful Brisbane models and a good friend from our beloved Mtn hometown, across different sizes and styling aesthetics:

~ Chanelle (size M)
~ Eva (size XL–2X)
~ Annabelle (size 3X)

And together, they absolutely brought the collection to life.

A Shoot Focused on Real Representation

This wasn’t just a small campaign shoot or a handful of styled looks. We photographed almost every single style across the day so we could begin updating our website imagery and product listings with more inclusive representation across the brand.

From flowy recycled silks and textured kantha layers to brand-new, unreleased designs (yes, there are definitely a few surprises hidden throughout these photos), the whole day became a celebration of colour, texture, individuality, and self-expression.

One thing we loved most was seeing how differently each woman styled and wore the pieces. The same garment could feel completely different depending on the person wearing it, which is exactly what we love about slow fashion and personal style.

Keeping Things Natural

Our shoot brief is always:

"As natural as possible."

Bare feet, minimal makeup, soft natural light, movement over perfection, and comfort over polish. We know that’s probably a little unusual in the modelling world, but an organic feel has always mattered to us.

Brooke spends a huge amount of time searching for models who genuinely resonate with the clothing and the values behind the brand, because we never want Renew imagery to feel overly manufactured or disconnected from the essence of the brand.

We want the people wearing our clothing to feel like themselves while shooting it.

A Dreamy Day at Barcola Studio

We were lucky enough to spend the day at beautiful Barcola Studio, a light-filled creative space on the Gold Coast full of texture, warmth, reclaimed materials, and thoughtful details.

Created by photographer Jodie, the studio itself is grounded in sustainability and craftsmanship, which made it feel perfectly aligned with the spirit of Renew. Reclaimed timber, antique details, limewashed walls, lush gardens and soft natural light created the dreamiest backdrop for the collection.

You could feel the love and intention behind the space the moment you walked in.

The Team Making it Happen

It truly takes a village to bring a shoot like this together.

Kaitlin worked her magic, steaming racks of clothing and coordinating outfits throughout the day, while Brooke stepped into creative director mode alongside our wonderful photographer, Paulinne, guiding the overall vision and flow of the shoot.

Hannah became the all-around go-to girl, helping with styling, accessories, food runs, and making sure everyone felt comfortable and cared for throughout the day.

We also brought along our lovely new friend Tegan, who has recently joined the team to help with product photography and behind-the-scenes video content. She captured so many beautiful candid moments throughout the shoot, and we absolutely can’t wait to start sharing more of them with you soon. (If you caught Brooke sneaking little BTS clips onto Instagram Stories, you’ve already had a tiny preview!)

The Little Moments That Made the Day

Some of the best parts of the shoot weren’t even the photos themselves.

Warm chai lattes between outfit changes. Vietnamese takeaway shared around the studio table. Laughing while swapping shoes and trading jewellery between looks. Everyone hyping each other up behind the camera. The group even went for a stroll down the street to take photos in front of a stone wall, spotted a mama wallaby with her baby and ran into some locals who stopped for a chat.

It was a very long day, but one that felt deeply collaborative, creative, and genuinely joyful.

Looking Ahead

This shoot feels like an important step forward for us, and it’s only the beginning.

We’re already dreaming up ideas for future campaigns, expanding representation even further, and brainstorming what we could create together for our 2026 community shoot (hint hint: keep your calendars open for November).

As always, none of this would be possible without your support, feedback, encouragement, and belief in what we do. Thank you for continuing to grow alongside us and helping shape the future of Renew Bohemian into something even more inclusive, thoughtful, and community-driven.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram for more behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot, and join our Facebook community group and mailing list to be the first to hear about future community opportunities, releases, and campaigns.
