We designed our Bohemian Basics collection to be the perfect complement to all your beautiful kantha, cotton sari and silk pieces, while also being lovely enough to wear all on their own.
The idea came from you, too. We had so many customers asking where Brooke found the simple layering pieces she wore with her colourful Renew treasures that we decided it was time to create our own.

Our Bohemian Basics Palazzo Pants are made from soft and stretchy LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fabric that moves beautifully with your body. But there's something else that makes them a little bit special.
They don't fray.
Which means you can easily cut them to your preferred length without needing to sew a new hem.
Yep. Really!
Whether you're petite, tall, somewhere in between, or simply prefer your palazzos to sit at a particular point on your ankle, you can customise the length yourself. No sewing machine required.
Before You Cut
We know. Cutting a brand new pair of pants can feel a little terrifying!
But don't worry. It's much easier than it sounds.
The most important thing is to take your time and measure twice, cut once. And remember, you can always cut a little more off, but you can't put it back on!

What You'll Need
You only need a few simple things:
- Your Bohemian Basics Palazzo Pants
- A ruler
- A sharp pair of scissors
- A marker pen or paint pen
- A safety pin or two, if you'd like to use them for marking your preferred length
We recommend a paint pen or marker that is easy to see against the fabric.

Step 1: Find Your Perfect Length
Put your palazzos on with the shoes you are most likely to wear with them.
This is important because your shoes can change where you want the hem to sit.
Stand naturally and decide where you'd like the pants to finish. You might prefer them skimming the top of your foot, sitting around your ankle, or somewhere in between.
Once you've found your preferred length, use a safety pin to mark the spot.
Alternatively, you can make one small mark with your marker pen so you know where to begin measuring.
Our tip: If you're nervous, start slightly longer than you think you want. You can always take a little more off later.

Step 2: Lay Them Flat
Take your pants off and lay them on a flat surface.
Smooth out the fabric and line up the legs as evenly as possible.
You want to make sure the existing hems are sitting evenly before you start measuring and marking.

Step 3: Measure and Mark
Using your ruler, measure from the existing hem up to your desired length.
Once you've worked out exactly where you want your new hem to sit, use your marker pen or paint pen to draw a straight line across the width of the pants.
We recommend marking just below your desired finished length so you have a clear cutting line.
Take your time here. This is the part where measuring twice really pays off!

Step 4: Cut
Now for the scary bit.
Take your sharp scissors and carefully cut straight across the pants, following your marked line.
Try to keep your scissors level as you move across the fabric and take your time rather than rushing.
Because our Bohemian Basics fabric is designed not to fray, you don't need to fold, sew or finish the raw edge.

Step 5: Check Your Hem
Fold the pants in half so you can compare both legs.
Check that the new hems line up evenly.
If one side is a little longer than the other, simply make a small adjustment with your scissors.
And that's it!
Tada! Your Bohemian Basics Palazzo Pants are now the perfect length for you.

A Little Cutting Advice From Us
Our biggest tip?
Cut a little less than you think you need to.
It's very easy to take another centimetre or two off if you decide you'd like them shorter. Unfortunately, scissors don't come with an undo button!
And don't feel like you have to get the length perfect on your first try; the beauty of these pants is that you can customise them to suit your body, your height and the way you like to wear them.
That's one of the things we love most about Bohemian Basics.
Simple, comfortable pieces that work for you.
No sewing machine, no complicated alterations - just your favourite palazzos, cut to exactly the length you love.

And that's it! Your Bohemian Basics Palazzo Pants are now the perfect length for you.
We love that this little trick means you can make your Palazzos work for your height, your shoes and your personal style without needing a sewing machine or a trip to the tailor. Whether you like them sweeping the floor or sitting a little shorter at the ankle, you get to decide what feels best.
Just remember our golden rule: measure twice, cut once! And if you're feeling nervous, start by taking off less than you think you need. You can always trim a little more, but once they're cut, there's no going back!
Now all that's left to do is put them on, pair them with your favourite Renew pieces and enjoy them. 🌈
