If you were around for the launch of our Stone Wash Collection, you will remember the robe. Indigo dyed, stone washed, full of character — it was one of those pieces that just worked, and so many of you fell in love with it. We did too, honestly, and it's been on our minds ever since.
So we asked ourselves: what would that robe look like in silk?
Meet the Apsara Robe, the newest addition to the Renew Bohemian family, and one we've been quietly dreaming up for a while.
It's crafted from upcycled sari silk, handcrafted by skilled artisans in India, which means every single one is completely unique. No two are the same fabric, the same colours, or the same story. Some have been made using tie-dyed fabric, and some aren't, letting the natural beauty of the recycled silk do the talking. Both are equally gorgeous, just in different ways.
The name comes from Hindu and Buddhist mythology. An apsara is a celestial spirit often depicted draped in flowing silk. When we landed on it, we just knew it felt right!
Practically speaking, the Apsara Robe is maxi length with a tie belt, side splits, functional pockets (yes, real ones!), and the most beautiful wide bell sleeves. It has that kimono-inspired silhouette we loved with the original Stone Wash robes, just lighter and floatier. Throw it over your favourite kantha outfit, belt it up as a dress, or wear it wide open on a warm evening. It's one of those pieces you'll just keep finding new ways to wear.
Because the fabric is reclaimed sari silk, we can never restock the same prints. When they're gone, they're gone — so if one calls to you, run, don't walk!
